Creative Strategies for Adult Employment
Our children and adults with autism have such a wide range of needs and challenges we need to be really creative about our approaches to finding work opportunities for them. From volunteering to micro-businesses to "real" businesses to more traditional employment, and everything in between, Joanna will share her personal experiences and strategies as well as the resources and supports that might be available in the quest for employment.
Presenter: Joanna Jaeger, Parent of a 24 year old young man with autism, long-time advocate and volunteer in the disability community in the Bay Area. Along with her son, she has created "Big Al's Best" a small business that sells candy and art work and provides local errand and office services.
